Over 100 firefighters battle container ship blaze at Los Angeles port
A container ship has caught fire at the Port of Los Angeles in California, prompting a large-scale emergency response.
The city’s mayor, Karen Bass, confirmed on X that the fire broke out due to an electrical fault on board the vessel, Caliber.Az reports.
More than 100 firefighters have been deployed to tackle the blaze, while Port Police are assisting crew members to safety.
Specialist teams from the Los Angeles Fire Department are monitoring air quality as efforts to suppress the fire continue.
