Over 2,800 Russian drones strike Ukraine in one week, Zelenskyy says
Ukraine has been under an intense wave of Russian attacks, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reporting that over the past week, the country has faced more than 2,800 drone strikes, nearly 1,350 guided aerial bombs, and over 40 missiles of various types.
"Right now, all partners need to strengthen air defense together so that the interception rate of drones and missiles continues to increase. This is a daily effort for everyone, not just Ukraine, because through supplies, support for us, and joint work, our partners are helping themselves as well. Russia has no intention of stopping. I thank everyone who understands this and contributes to our shared defense," Zelenskyy wrote on X, Caliber.Az reports.
Last night, Russia struck Odesa with attack drones. Residential buildings, a kindergarten, and a district power substation have been damaged. Thousands of families have been left without electricity. Repair crews have been working since the night to restore power supply.

Overnight, Russia launched more than 140 attack drones, including nearly 80 Shahed drones, striking residential areas, energy infrastructure, and public facilities. In Odesa, the strikes damaged homes, a kindergarten, and a district power substation, leaving thousands of families without electricity.
Tragically, three people were killed in the Odesa attack, including a two-year-old child, while 16 others were wounded. Eleven of the injured have been hospitalized, including a pregnant woman and two children—the youngest under one year old. Two additional injuries were reported in the Kharkiv region.
Energy infrastructure was also targeted in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipro regions, prompting emergency crews to work overnight to restore power. Zelenskyy thanked the emergency services for their efforts, saying, “I thank our emergency services helping on the ground.”
The Ukrainian president emphasised the shared responsibility of international partners in countering the threat, underlining that the ongoing attacks are not just a Ukrainian problem but a challenge for global security.
