Over 40 killed in drone strike in Sudan

More than 40 people, including fighters from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), were killed in a drone strike on a wedding venue in Sudan’s North Darfur state, The Sudan Tribune newspaper reports.

According to the publication, the strike took place in the city of Kutum, which has been under RSF control for nearly three years and has been regularly targeted by drone attacks.

Local sources told the outlet that at least 40 people were killed and more than 100 injured in the strike on the wedding ceremony. Dozens of homes were also destroyed. The RSF blamed the Sudanese army for the attack.

Earlier, Sudan Tribune reported that around 500 people have been killed over the past three months in drone strikes targeting civilians in Sudan.
