Over 5 kilograms of methamphetamine seized in transit through Azerbaijan Video

Customs officials in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan exclave have seized more than five kilograms of methamphetamine concealed in a truck transiting the country, authorities said.

According to the Nakhchivan Main Customs Administration, the drugs were discovered during an inspection at the Sadarak customs post, Caliber.Az reports per the State Customs Committee.

The truck was travelling from Iran to Türkiye via Azerbaijan when officers uncovered 5.254 kilograms of methamphetamine hidden inside six plastic bags placed within the battery compartment of the trailer.

Officials described the haul as a particularly large quantity of psychotropic substances intended for illegal circulation.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.
