Over 70 Russian attacks target 31 settlements in Sumy Oblast, Ukraine

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out more than 70 strikes on 31 settlements across 20 communities in Sumy Oblast, resulting in civilian casualties and extensive damage, local authorities report.

Governor of Sumy Oblast Oleh Hryhorov confirmed that a 42-year-old man was killed in the Romny community, while women aged 47, 61, and 66 were injured during drone attacks. Thirteen people were evacuated, and air raid alerts lasted for 23 hours and 31 minutes.

Additional damage was reported across several communities:

• Esman and Shalyhyne: private homes and utility structures destroyed

• Hlukhiv: private residential building damaged

• Shostka: residential buildings, an apartment block, non-residential buildings, and infrastructure damaged

• Sumy: household and utility structures affected

• Romny: residential and non-residential buildings destroyed

• Lebedyn: infrastructure facility damaged
