Over 700 flights cancelled in Persian Gulf, Middle East
01 March 2026 10:54
On March 1, 716 flights out of 4,329 in the countries of the Persian Gulf and the Middle East were cancelled, reports the analytics company Cirium.
The cause was the strikes exchanged between the U.S., Israel, and Iran.
According to the company, the number of cancelled flights may increase as new information from airlines becomes available.
The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority announced the implementation of a plan to minimise the impact of the conflict on air travel and tourism. It provides for flexible management of passenger transportation to reduce schedule changes.
Earlier, it was reported that the airspace of several countries in the region was closed following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28.
