Pakistan Army kills 13 terrorists in twin northwest operations
The Pakistan Army announced that 13 suspected terrorists were killed in two separate operations in northwestern Pakistan.
In the first “intelligence-based” operation, 10 militants were eliminated on March 30 in the Khyber tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Afghanistan, according to a military statement, TRT World reports.
A separate engagement in Bannu district on the same day resulted in the deaths of three additional suspected terrorists.
“Security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the statement said.
The military action comes amid a rise in terrorist attacks in recent years attributed to the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, which Islamabad claims operates from Afghan territory. Kabul has denied the accusation.
