10 June 2026 13:44

Pakistan’s military says it has killed 26 militants in border areas near Afghanistan during targeted operations against a group it identified as “Fitna Al Khwarij.”

Sharing a post on X, Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the strikes were carried out based on “credible intelligence” and targeted militant camps and hideouts, Caliber.Az reports.

According to him, four sites were destroyed, including a training centre, a hideout, an ammunition depot, and facilities linked to commanders of the group.

“Based on credible intelligence, selective targeting of camps and hideouts was carried out with precision and accuracy. Four targets were completely destroyed including a training centre, a hide out & an ammunition cache and Marakiz belonging to Fitna Al Khwarij Commander Aleem Khan Khushali and Commander Akhtar Muhammad Jani Khel,” he wrote.

Tarar added that Pakistan remains committed to peace and stability in the region, while prioritising the security of its citizens.

He also said Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign under the “Azm e Istehkam ” framework would continue “at full pace” until the threat of terrorism allegedly supported from abroad is eliminated.
