Pakistan, Iran discuss cooperation, regional issues
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The parties discussed bilateral cooperation in various sectors and exchanged views on regional developments, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Pakistani Foreign Ministry's page on X.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in trade, transport infrastructure, and humanitarian relations, and expressed their determination to work closely for peace and development in the region.
On December 12, 2025, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of an international peace forum in Turkmenistan. The leaders highlighted mutual support during external aggressions earlier in the year and discussed enhancing trade, border security, and transport links, including reviving the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul rail network.
