Pakistan reports Afghan military losses at 481 amid border clashes
The Pakistani government has reported that at least 481 Afghan soldiers have been killed and over 696 wounded during ongoing clashes along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. The information was shared by Pakistan’s Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, on social media platform X.
According to Minister Tarar, since the launch of Operation Gazab lil-Haq (“Righteous Wrath”), Pakistani forces have destroyed 226 Afghan checkpoints, seized control of 35 more, and conducted airstrikes on 56 targets within Afghan territory. In addition, Pakistani forces claim to have destroyed more than 198 enemy armoured vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Afghan Ministry of Defence reports its own successes in the conflict, stating that Pakistani forces suffered 150 fatalities and over 200 injuries. Kabul also confirmed that 28 Afghan soldiers were killed and 42 wounded during the clashes.
