Pakistan’s prime minister arrives in Kyrgyzstan for SCO summit

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Kyrgyzstan on an official visit, where he is set to take part in a series of high-level events, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.

Sharif was welcomed at Manas International Airport by Adylbek Kasymaliyev, Chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration.

As part of the welcoming ceremony, Sharif was presented with a soft toy depicting a snow leopard, the official mascot of the 6th World Nomad Games.

During his visit, the Pakistani prime minister will participate in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO member countries, as well as a high-level meeting in the SCO Plus format.

Sharif is also scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games.

The visit is expected to include bilateral talks between the Pakistani and Kyrgyz sides, along with the signing of a number of documents.

Kyrgyzstan is chairing the SCO in 2026 and is hosting the organisation’s anniversary summit in Bishkek, marking 25 years since the SCO was established.
