Pakistan tightens airport screening amid Ebola outbreak in Africa
24 May 2026 11:57
Authorities in Pakistan have strengthened health screening measures at airports in response to an Ebola outbreak in Africa, according to the country’s Ministry of Health.
Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has ordered additional preventive checks for passengers entering the country to reduce the risk of potential virus transmission. Citizens planning travel to African countries have also been advised to follow official health guidelines, Caliber.Az reports, citing Dawn.
The ministry noted that the risk of Ebola being imported into Pakistan remains very low due to limited air connectivity with countries where infections have been detected. It also emphasized that no Ebola cases have ever been recorded in Pakistan.
