Pakistan to facilitate transit of Kazakh cargo through its major seaports

Pakistan has expressed its readiness to facilitate the transit of Kazakh cargo through its major seaports of Karachi, Qasim and Gwadar during a meeting between Pakistan's Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry and Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin.

Islamabad also proposed expanding cooperation through joint projects in special economic zones, as well as collaboration in port operations, shipping and trade facilitation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the minister, Pakistan's ports could serve as key transit hubs for Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries, providing access to markets in the Persian Gulf, Africa and Southeast Asia.
