Pakistan vows strong response to any Indian aggression on Defence Day

06 September 2025 16:51

On the 60th Defence and Martyrs Day, Pakistan issued a stern warning to India, with Air Vice Marshal Shahryar Khan asserting that the country’s armed forces are ready to respond decisively to any threat.

Speaking at a change of guard ceremony at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi, he said, “Next time, it won’t be 0-6 – it’ll be 0-60,” referring to the downing of six Indian jets during the May conflict, Caliber.Az reports via Dunya News

He added that Pakistan's enemies have always faced defeat and will continue to receive a befitting response to any aggression.

Referring to “Operation Bunyanun Marṣuṣ”, he said it rekindled the spirit of September 6, when Pakistan successfully countered adversaries’ designs.

Shahryar Khan emphasised the Pakistan Air Force's (PAF) commitment, saying, “This guard changing is not a mere tradition; it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam, who taught us unity. We are the custodians of his vision and are ready to defeat the enemy on all fronts.”

Highlighting the PAF’s modern capabilities, he said, “Defending every inch of this nation — in the air or on the ground — is our sacred responsibility. Under the leadership of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, the PAF has become even more modern and capable.”

The ceremony, held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, also paid tribute to martyrs and their families. Across Pakistan, Defence and Martyrs Day was observed with patriotic events, including gun salutes and prayers for national peace and prosperity.
