Pakistani forces eliminate 15 terrorists in major Khyber Pakhtunkhwa operations

Pakistani security forces eliminated 15 terrorists in two separate intelligence-driven operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 15–16 November, the military’s media wing confirmed.

The operations targeted Indian-backed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants, including top commanders of the Fitna-ul-Khawarij group, as part of the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam,” Samaa.tv reports.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation was conducted in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan District following credible intelligence about the presence of Fitna-ul-Khawarij militants. Troops engaged the terrorists, killing ten, including the group’s primary leader, Alam Mehsud.

A separate operation in Datta Khel tehsil of North Waziristan District resulted in the neutralization of five additional terrorists. Clearance operations remain ongoing in both locations to eliminate any residual threats.

The ISPR underscored that these operations are part of a sustained counter-terrorism drive, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, aimed at eradicating foreign-backed terrorism from Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the successful operations, stating, “Under the vision of determination and stability, our security forces are achieving great successes against terrorism. The entire nation stands with them in this war.” He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completely eradicating terrorism from the country.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the professionalism and bravery of the troops, saying, “Our troops have once again thwarted the nefarious intentions of Indian-sponsored terrorists.” He added, “The nation appreciates their efforts to establish peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and operations will continue until all terrorists are eliminated.”
