Iran-hit oil tanker catches fire and sinks in Hormuz Strait VIDEO / UPDATED

The Skylight oil tanker, hit by an Iranian missile while attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz, has caught fire and is sinking, as per Iran's state media.

The oil tanker Skylight, flying the flag of Palau, was attacked approximately five nautical miles (about 9.3 kilometres) from Musandam Island off the coast of Oman, the local Maritime Security Center said.

There were 20 crew members on board the tanker: 15 Indian and five Iranian citizens. Four of them were injured in the attack, Reuters says.

They received the necessary medical assistance, followed by an urgent evacuation.
