Palestine could become radical Islamic dictatorship under Hamas control Israeli foreign minister says

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has announced that the killing of six hostages by Hamas serves as a warning to all who recognise or are considering recognising Palestinian statehood.

“The brutal murder of six Israeli hostages by Hamas serves as a stark warning to any country that has recognized or is considering recognizing a Palestinian state after the October 7th massacre. A Palestinian state would be controlled by Hamas, backed by Iran, and would become a radical Islamic dictatorship, threatening Israel and moderate nations in the region. I urge you to reverse this dangerous step,” Caliber.Az reports, citing the minister’s message on X.

On August 31 evening, Israeli forces discovered the bodies of six hostages in an underground tunnel near Rafah. While militants claim the hostages were killed in Israeli airstrikes, the Israeli Ministry of Health examined the bodies and concluded that they were shot at close range by Hamas supporters. According to the forensic analysis, the hostages are believed to have been killed two to three days prior to the examination, early in the morning on August 29-30. According to the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Hamas currently holds 62 hostages and 39 bodies of people previously taken captive.
