Palestinian parliamentary elections scheduled for November 2026

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has issued a presidential decree setting November 28, 2026, as the date for legislative elections.

The decree calls on Palestinians in East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip to participate in free and direct elections to choose members of the Palestinian Legislative Council on the specified date, WAFA News Agency reports.

Issued under Law No. (1) of 2007 on general elections and its amendments, the decree aims to strengthen the foundations of democracy and complete the electoral process in the State of Palestine.

A date for the presidential elections, which are scheduled to take place in the first quarter of next year, will be set in accordance with the law.
