Paraglider crashes onto Northern Ireland hotel roof, rescued PHOTO / VIDEO
A paraglider crashed onto the roof of the Lough Erne Golf Resort near Enniskillen, Fermanagh, prompting a rescue by fire crews.
According to foreign media, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said: “Firefighters, alongside the Specialist Rescue Team, rescued the casualty using rope rescue equipment and a ladder. The man was left in the care of NIAS, and firefighters left the scene at 4.46 pm.”
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service added: “Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to South West Acute Hospital.”
The resort confirmed the incident on social media, noting that bookings were unaffected and the resort continued to operate normally aside from the immediate collision area.
Footage shows the man gliding through the air before sliding down the hotel roof. The paraglider canopy remained on the roof after the crash.
