French authorities raid X social media platform offices

The Paris prosecutor’s office has carried out raids at the offices of X, the social media platform owned by American billionaire Elon Musk.

The operations were conducted by the cybercrime division of the prosecutor’s office in cooperation with Europol, Caliber.Az reports, citing the office’s statement on X.

According to authorities, the raids are part of an investigation launched in January 2025. The probe was initiated over the introduction of a tool on X that uses artificial intelligence to generate images, including pornographic content.

X is also under investigation in other European countries, as well as in India and Malaysia.

At the end of the press release, the prosecutor’s office announced that it will no longer maintain an account on X.
