Party leader: Macron's resignation vital for France
Leader of the "Stand Up France" party Nicolas Dupont-Aignan has said that French President Emmanuel Macron should resign from his post.
"Macron is creating a false Russian threat to hold onto power and line his pockets at the expense of the French people. His removal from office is a vital necessity," Dupont-Aignan wrote on X, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Earlier, on March 5, Macron announced that he would begin discussions with his allies regarding the possibility of extending French nuclear deterrence to European countries. This move came in response to a proposal by Friedrich Merz, a candidate for Chancellor of Germany. Macron further stated that France's nuclear weapons have maintained peace and security in Europe since 1964.
Additionally, Macron addressed the French people, warning of a Russian threat to France and entire Europe. He emphasised that Paris cannot remain an indifferent bystander in a world of dangers. The French president also condemned the pacifist stance of US President Donald Trump.
