Party of 150 in Germany ends in fatal stabbing incident
A party attended by around 150 people in the German city of Essen descended into a violent knife attack, leaving one person dead and another under investigation for attempted murder.
According to Bild, approximately 150 guests gathered at a rented property on Girardet Street on the night of July 5. At around 2:00 a.m. local time, three Turkish men and one German man stepped outside to settle a dispute.
The confrontation initially remained verbal but soon escalated into a physical altercation.
According to the preliminary findings, a 46-year-old Turkish national allegedly initiated the fight and attempted to use a knife. He was, however, injured during the incident and taken to hospital. Police are currently investigating him on suspicion of attempted murder.
During the disturbance, a 56-year-old security guard, who was not directly involved in the altercation, suffered a fatal heart attack.
