Pashinyan: Armenia–EU visa-free regime possible within two years
Armenia and the European Union may abolish the visa regime no later than two years, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a meeting with voters as part of his election campaign.
“The issue of visa liberalization between Armenia and the EU will be resolved in no more than two years... By that time, you will only need to remember to bring your passport and ticket,” he said, according to Armenian media.
The official dialogue on visa liberalization between the EU and Armenia began in 2024. Under the agreed action plan, both sides are currently working closely together to assess progress in reforms, security, and data protection.
If current reform momentum continues, visa-free travel for Armenian citizens could become a reality in the coming years, with full implementation requiring approval from the European Commission and the European Parliament.
