Passenger and freight trains collide in Croatia, 24 injured

Twenty-four people were injured after a freight train and a passenger train collided between the Sveti Ivan Zabno and Gradec railway stations in Croatia.

None of those injured in the train collision are in life-threatening condition, Croatian Radio and Television reports.

The passenger train was carrying 28 people — 26 passengers, a driver and a conductor. The injured were treated at hospitals in Bjelovar and Koprivnica, while some patients were taken to Zagreb.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Rail traffic on the section has been suspended.
