Passenger ferry runs aground near Cheongsan Island, South Korea

A passenger ferry en route from Jeju to Mokpo ran aground off the coast of Cheongsan Island Island, South Korea, on the evening of November 19.
The vessel was carrying 246 passengers and 21 crew members, totaling 267 people, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
At approximately 8:17 PM local time, the ferry struck submerged rocks and came to a halt. Coast Guard vessels were promptly dispatched to the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the ferry had become lodged on a rocky ridge. Experts are currently inspecting the hull for structural damage and water intrusion. Evacuation of passengers is ongoing. At present, there have been no reports of casualties or injuries.
