Pentagon provides estimate on number of Iranian drones in Russian hands
The US Pentagon Press Secretary Patrick Ryder commented on the number of Iranian drones supplied to Russia for its war efforts against Ukraine during a press conference on November 29.
According to the transcript of the press meeting on the Pentagon's website, responding to a journalist’s question on whether the government is aware of how many Iranian-made military drones are currently in Russian possession, Ryder answered that the US is aware of “at least hundreds”.
“I'm not going to get into specific numbers. Certainly, we know that there is the intent there on the part of Russia to try to acquire additional systems”, the press secretary said.
He also emphasized that this concerning behaviour shown by Russia again highlights the fact that they "continue to export terror together with Iran and use those systems to attack non-military targets that include civilians".
