Peru: 11 Injured as police helicopter makes emergency landing in Amazonas VIDEO
As many as eleven people were injured after the emergency landing of a police helicopter in northern Peru, the country's Ministry of Defence reported.
The incident occurred in the Amazonas region, with the Ministry confirming the news on X page, Caliber.Az reports.
"The police helicopter made an emergency landing in Amazonas," the statement read. "The Defence Minister has arrived at the airfield to assist in the transfer of the injured officers to Lima for hospital treatment."
Eight of the wounded were flown to hospital by a police aircraft, while the remaining three were transported by a Peruvian Army plane, the Ministry said.
The Ministry of the Interior praised the skill of the pilot, highlighting that the successful emergency landing had prevented further casualties.
