Pilot injured after small plane crashes onto house in Texas VIDEO
A pilot was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a small aircraft crashed onto the roof of a house in Fulshear, Texas, on July 20, authorities said.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the aircraft was attempting to land at a nearby airstrip when it came down on a home in the Covey Trails neighbourhood, Caliber.Az reports per US media.
Fire officials said the pilot was conscious but trapped inside the cockpit when emergency crews arrived. Firefighters first secured the damaged house before rescuing the pilot.
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) identified the aircraft as a Piper J3C-65 and said the pilot was the only person on board. The agency has launched an investigation into the crash.
The homeowners were inside the house at the time of the incident but were not injured.
