Plane crash in Brazil kills all 61 on board

A tragic plane crash in São Paulo, Brazil, has claimed the lives of all 61 people on board.

The ATR 72-500, operated by Voepass, was en route from Cascavel to Guarulhos when it crashed in Vinhedo, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.

Social media footage shows the plane spiraling downward. The aircraft, carrying 57 passengers and 4 crew members, struck a residential area but caused no injuries on the ground, with only minor damage to one home.

São Paulo Governor Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas has declared three days of mourning, while President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has expressed his condolences to the victims' families. The flight recorders have been recovered, and ATR, the plane's manufacturer, is cooperating with the investigation. This crash, Brazil's deadliest since 2007, has prompted a significant emergency response from local authorities.
