Plane crashes into hangar at Adelaide Airport in Australia
A light aircraft has crashed into a hangar while attempting to land near Parafield Airport in Adelaide, South Australia, triggering a fire and a large emergency response.
Emergency services were called to Kings Road at around 2:10 p.m. local time after the report, according to Australian media.
Airport emergency teams later confirmed a fire at the site.
Police said the crash led to a significant blaze, with smoke spreading toward the Mawson Lakes area and nearby suburbs.
The area around the incident has been evacuated as firefighters continue to battle the fire.
Residents have been advised to avoid the area and remain indoors, keeping windows, doors, and ventilation systems closed due to heavy smoke.
Earlier in January, the same airport experienced another incident involving a light aircraft that crashed during takeoff and caught fire on the runway.
