Poland, allies team up for massive artillery shell purchase
Poland’s Armament Agency has announced that the EU committed significant funding to Poland and five other member states for the joint acquisition of 155mm artillery ammunition, a move designed to bolster European defence capabilities.
This initiative falls under the European Defence Industry Reinforcement through common Procurement Act (EDIRPA) mechanism, Caliber.Az reports via the agency’s message on X.

Head of Poland’s Armament Agency, Brigadier General Artur Kuptel formally signed the grant agreement on behalf of Poland.
"Under this agreement, we will receive funding from the EDIRPA programme for joint ammunition procurement," the agency stated.
The total grant earmarked for this collaborative procurement project amounts to a substantial 300 million euros ($343 million). The six participating nations include Poland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, and Croatia.
