Poland demands $1.4 billion from Gazprom for stopping transit

Polish company Europol Gaz, which owns the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, has filed a claim against Gazprom for 6 billion zlotys (over $1.4 billion).
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Control of State Assets of Poland Jacek Sasin on air of TVP Info.
The company considers the major part of this sum - over 5 billion zlotys - as lost profit for the period until 2045 due to the cessation of transportation of Russian gas through the pipeline, another 850 million zlotys is owed for transportation, said Sasin.
The lawsuit will be considered by the International Court of Arbitration in Stockholm.
