Poland grants special protection to military drone manufacturer
The Polish government has adopted a resolution to include drone and military equipment producer WB Electronics in its list of private companies whose takeovers require government approval to safeguard against threats to national interests.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk spoke of "the necessity to protect against the risk of these companies, which are crucial for state security, falling into the wrong hands" on December 18, Caliber.Az reported citing Reuters.
According to Tusk, his government was driven by the intention "to protect", not to make things more difficult for any transactions.
In addition to including WB Electronics, the producer of the FlyEye drones and Warmate kamikaze drones, the resolution also extended to Germany’s T-Mobile, US-owned TV channels TVN and Polsat as well as Cyfrowy Polsat media companies.
