Poland holds off on decision to shoot down drones over Ukraine

Poland has not yet decided whether to shoot down drones over Ukraine, Deputy Defence Minister Stanisław Wziątek has said.

Speaking to TVP Info, Wziątek said any such decision should be agreed at NATO level.

“Without a doubt, this should be agreed as part of the actions of [NATO] allies,” he said.

He added that Warsaw taking such action would be perceived by Moscow as joining the fighting.

A day earlier, Deputy Defence Minister Cezary Tomczyk said Polish military pilots would be allowed to decide whether to shoot down objects entering Polish airspace from Russia based solely on radar data, without requiring visual identification.
