Poland hosts "Brave Tiger" exercise focused on combat medicine PHOTO
The Brave Tiger military exercise is currently underway at the Dravsk training range in Poland, aimed at familiarising participants with the operations of a field hospital, Polish media reports.
Around a thousand soldiers and dozens of medics are taking part in the exercise. Soldiers practice evacuating the wounded from frontline positions, while military and civilian doctors gain hands-on experience in running a field hospital under realistic combat conditions.
Organised by the 12th Mechanised Brigade, the exercise seeks to familiarise civilian doctors with military medicine and medical procedures typically required in combat. Brigadier General Dariusz Czekaj, commander of the 12th Mechanised Brigade, noted:
“We have prepared a number of simulations. These include injuries typical of combat, such as ruptures and gunshot wounds caused by artillery shells.”
Czekaj emphasised that the training is informed by Ukraine’s experience, with scenarios designed to replicate situations most often encountered in modern conflicts.
The participating doctors recently took the military oath and were formally incorporated as reservists.
The exercise coincides with other military drills in the region. On October 13, Lithuania launched its Storm Strike 2025 exercise in the western part of the country, while NATO’s Steadfast Noon 2025 nuclear deterrence exercise also began the same day.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said the exercise is crucial for ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of the alliance’s nuclear deterrence.
