Poland, Iran discuss Middle East tensions in high-level call
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski held a phone conversation with Abbas Araghchi amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.
According to Caliber.Az, Sikorski announced the call in a post on the social media platform X.
Dziękuję @araghchi za dobrą rozmowę. Ochrona cywilów, dążenie do pokoju w regionie oraz otwarcie Cieśniny Ormuz są dla Polski kwestiami priorytetowymi. Nasza dyplomacja działa - pomimo trudnej sytuacji, nasza ambasada @PLinIran w Teheranie pozostaje otwarta. pic.twitter.com/iNYP4Hc4y1

During the conversation, he stressed that Poland’s priorities remain the protection of civilians, efforts to achieve peace in the region, and the restoration of navigation through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
Sikorski also noted that despite the difficult situation, Poland’s diplomatic mission in Tehran continues to operate.
“Our diplomacy yields results — even under these conditions, the Embassy of Poland in Iran remains open,” he said.
