Poland officially declares Russia "state sponsor of terrorism"
The lower house of Poland's parliament has passed a resolution recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
In the document, Polish MPs accused Russia of war crimes, genocide and "hostile economic activities", Caliber.Az reports, citing the parliament’s website.
"Russia is responsible for the crash of Malaysian Airlines [MH17] in July 2014, when 298 passengers and crew were killed, as well as for the April 2010 Smolensk crash, which killed 96 people, including Polish President Lech Kaczynski, Polish government officials, senior Polish and NATO military commanders and members of the Polish parliament," the resolution reads.
The document also presents harsh criticism of Russia's policy towards Ukraine, with accusations of torture, mass murders, "forced russification" and damage to civil infrastructure.
The resolution was backed by 231 lawmakers, while 226 MPs didn’t take part in the vote.
