Poland pledges to accelerate Ukraine’s EU membership
Poland has pledged to support Ukraine in an accelerated bid to join the European Union, Polish Sejm Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty said during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Ruslan Stefanchuk, in Kyiv.
Speaking at the event, Czarzasty acknowledged the complex history of Polish-Ukrainian relations but said it offered lessons for building closer ties, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
“We will assist you in joining the European Union. You will become a member of the European Union,” Czarzasty told reporters, emphasising Poland’s commitment to Ukraine’s European integration.
In response, Stefanchuk expressed gratitude for Poland’s ongoing support.
The two parliamentary leaders also signed a declaration confirming the Polish parliament’s backing for Ukraine’s efforts to join the EU.
