Poland to make Patriot missile launchers locally as part of US defense partnership
The launchers for the Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, ordered by the Polish government from the United States, will now be manufactured in Poland.
The republic's Ministry of Defense made this announcement on its official website, Caliber.Az reports via Gazeta.ru.
"Launchers for the Wisla air defense system, developed using the Patriot SAM system, will be produced in Poland," the statement adds.
On August 12, a contract will be signed in Sochaczew, near Warsaw, between the US company RTX (formerly Raytheon Technologies Corporation) and the Polish firm Huta Stalowa Wola. This agreement will cover the production of 48 M903 launchers, integral to the Patriot SAM system. This marks the commencement of the second phase of the Wisla long-range air defense system program.
