Poland to receive first batch of M1A2 Abrams tanks ahead of schedule
Poland is set to receive the first batch of M1A2 Abrams tanks in the latest SEPv3 version from the United States, marking a significant milestone in the strengthening of its military capabilities.
The first shipment of these advanced combat vehicles is already en route to Poland, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
However, for security reasons, the exact number of tanks, the name of the ship carrying them, and the specific dates of departure and arrival have not been disclosed.
The tanks are expected to arrive in Poland within the next few weeks, ahead of the initial forecast. Poland had originally expected the first delivery in early 2025, but the shipment is now expected to arrive earlier.
The full delivery of the 250 M1A2 SEPv3 tanks, along with supporting equipment—including technical support vehicles and assault bridges—is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
Poland signed a deal with the United States in 2022 to acquire these state-of-the-art tanks as part of efforts to modernize its military and enhance defence capabilities.
