Poland to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine in coming weeks

Polish Deputy Defence Minister Wojciech Skurkiewicz has said that Poland will hand over its Leopard tanks to Ukraine within the next few weeks.

“The issue directly depends on the training of Ukrainian soldiers,” he told "Plus" radio.

Skurkiewicz noted that this is the prospect of the coming weeks.

“As soon as they are trained, we will be ready to hand over the tanks to the Ukrainian side,” he added.

Earlier, Polish Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak said that Poland would receive 58 Abrams tanks from the US in 2023, while the first combat vehicles will be supplied in spring.
