Police detains two Kurdish men for attacking Turkish consulate with molotov cocktails in Marseille
The Turkish consulate building has been attacked with Molotov cocktails by unidentified people in the French city of Marseille on the night of January 5 to 6.
As reported by TRT World, this was announced by the Turkish Consul, Arda Ulutas, to Anadolu Agency on January 7, who stated that about six unidentified people wearing masks threw the explosives at the consulate's building.
According to the French BFMTV, an investigation by the French authorities has been launched, and two individuals are already taken into custody suspected to have been involved in the incident. The police have identified them as belonging to the Kurdish community. Two others remain at large.
Consul Ulutas said French police quickly arrived at the scene after the security personnel pressed the alarm button.
"Luckily, there were no injuries", noted Ulutas, adding that there was no material damage to the building either.
