Police officer injured in drone attack in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region
A police officer was injured in an enemy drone attack in the Polohy district of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, wrote on Telegram that the 43-year-old officer was in a service vehicle when it was struck by an FPV drone, Caliber.Az reports.
The vehicle was damaged, and the officer received all necessary medical assistance.
Russia’s sustained use of drones, missiles and artillery has been a persistent feature of the conflict in the Zaporizhzhia region, with frequent attacks on civilian areas and infrastructure resulting in injuries, deaths and widespread damage to homes and utilities.
Officials reported hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) strikes, primarily FPV‑type drones, being used alongside air and artillery bombardment against multiple settlements in the region, including Polohy district, causing civilian casualties and damage.
Recent Russian drone and missile strikes have also hit residential buildings in the city of Zaporizhzhia, injuring people and disrupting power supplies, underscoring the ongoing intensity of attacks on populated areas.
These attacks form part of the wider campaign of strikes across Ukraine involving swarms of drones and missile barrages that have driven significant civilian harm and infrastructure destruction since the full‑scale invasion began in February 2022.
