Polish defence minister’s Pentagon visit postponed at US request

A planned meeting between Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and US Pentagon officials on September 23 has been postponed at Washington’s request, Poland’s Ministry of National Defence said.

“Following an urgent request from the US side, the visit by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence W. Kosiniak-Kamysz to the Pentagon [...] will take place at a later date,” the ministry said in a post on X, Caliber.Az reports.

According to the ministry, the decision was made following signals from the US side and a meeting of NATO chiefs of defence. A new date for Kosiniak-Kamysz’s visit to Washington has not yet been agreed.

The Polish defence ministry added that Kosiniak-Kamysz’s deputies, Magdalena Sobkowiak and Paweł Zalevski, are travelling to the United States for talks and to prepare new agreements.
