Polish FM brands Kanye West fascist, bans entry into country
Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has stated that American rapper Kanye West (Ye) will be banned from entering the country, according to a post on his Instagram account.
“Kanye West will not enter Poland. The place for fascists is in prison,” the post read.
Kanye West’s planned concert (June 19, 2026) in Chorzów, Poland, was cancelled after strong political and institutional backlash over his history of antisemitic statements and public praise of Nazi ideology.
Polish Culture Minister Marta Cienkowska argued that allowing the event would contradict Poland’s historical experience as a country heavily affected by the Holocaust and that such expressions of hate speech are unacceptable in public cultural spaces.
The decision in Poland was part of a broader wave of disruptions to West’s European tour, with other countries and venues also cancelling or restricting his performances following similar controversies tied to extremist symbolism and rhetoric.
