Polish FM issues stark warning to Musk over Starlink discrimination
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has threatened SpaceX owner Elon Musk that Warsaw could stop paying for Starlink terminals provided to Ukraine unless Poland is restored to the European communications region.
“Hey, Elon Musk, big man, stop discriminating Polish users of Starlink or we might re-think paying you $50 million p.a. for your services,” Sikorski wrote on X.
Days earlier, SpaceX removed Poland from the European communications region for Starlink terminal users, which includes more than 30 countries. The company has not disclosed the reasons for the decision.
Since 2022, Poland has been paying subscription fees for Starlink services for 24,500 terminals provided to Kyiv. Warsaw’s annual spending on the service is estimated at $50 million.
