Polish FM suggests G20 could replace UNSC as peace guarantor

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said he hopes the G20 could eventually assume the role of the UN Security Council as the guarantor of international peace during a future reorganisation of the global order.

Speaking at the Polonia Camp event in Warsaw, he outlined his vision for the future of global governance, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

"I have my own theory that sooner or later—hopefully without a war—there will come a moment when the world order is reorganised, and the G20 will become its governing body," Sikorski noted.

In 2025, US President Donald Trump invited Poland to participate in G20 meetings.
