Polish FM tipped as ruling coalition's presidential candidate

Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Radosław Sikorski, could become the ruling Civic Coalition's (KO) candidate in the country's 2030 presidential election, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Bosacki.

Speaking in an interview with Polsat television, Bosacki said he expects Sikorski to represent the governing coalition and win the next presidential race.

"I think Radosław Sikorski will be the CC's candidate in the 2030 presidential election and will win," Bosacki said.

Bosacki dismissed speculation that Sikorski could become Poland's prime minister before a potential presidential bid, describing such reports as unfounded.

Ahead of the 2025 presidential election, the Civic Coalition considered nominating Sikorski as its candidate but ultimately chose Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski. Trzaskowski went on to lose the election to the current president, Karol Nawrocki.
