Polish military personnel reaches 160,000

Deputy Minister of National Defense of Poland Wojciech Skurkiewicz has said that the personnel of the republic's army had been increased to 160,000 people, Gazeta.Ru reports.

The publication notes that at the beginning of 2022, the number of the Polish army was approximately 111.5 thousand professional soldiers and 32 thousand representatives of the territorial defence forces.

“We are trying to increase, and this is written in our strategic documents, the strength of the Polish army to 300,000. This, of course, is the prospect of 2035, but we are consistently increasing (the army's manpower)," Skurkiewicz said.

He noted that this number could be enough to guarantee Poland's security.
