Polish PM exposes Russian-backed sabotage network Including Polish national
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Polish security services have detained 32 individuals suspected of collaborating with Russian intelligence to carry out sabotage and destabilisation activities in Poland.
Among the suspects is one Polish national, alongside Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians, and a Colombian, Caliber.Az reports, citing Polish media.
Speaking ahead of a Cabinet meeting, Tusk said the arrested individuals were involved in acts including violence and arson, with at least one person already sentenced and others awaiting trial.
He specifically pointed to a 27-year-old Colombian believed responsible for two arson attacks in Poland, which were allegedly orchestrated by Russian intelligence.
Tusk vowed that Poland will act “relentlessly” against anyone attempting to undermine the country’s security, particularly at its borders.
He called on key ministers to intensify efforts to prevent such threats and apprehend those working on behalf of Russian interests.
The Prime Minister also warned that the threat of Russian aggression will remain “constant,” regardless of how the conflict in Ukraine evolves.
He confirmed the detention and repatriation of one of the sabotage coordinators, who is now in Poland under prosecution.
